15. Other Accomplishments
Brought many developments to Sophisticated Test and Instrumentation Centre as its Director during the past 6 Years. This includes NABL Accreditation to STIC in Mechanical calibration, establishment of several state of the art calibration and test facilities in Electro-technical, Thermal and Mechanical areas etc.
Played the key role in establishing the Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility (SAIF) at Sophisticated Test & Instrumentation Centre. This facility, supported by Department of Science & Technology, is the 12 th such facility in the country. Brought in funds to the tune of Rupees 8 Crores for this facility, which is now extensively used by researchers all over India, particularly Kerala.
Instrumental in establishing the Department of Instrumentation at Cochin University of Science and Technology as its Founder Head of the Department. Started the B. Tech. Course in this Department and made it one of the important Departments of the University.
Organized several national level conferences at Cochin University of Science & Technology, including DAE Symposium on Solid State Physics, National Symposium on Instrumentation, National Symposium on Ultrasonics etc.
Delivered Invited talks, Technical lectures, Presentations at a large number of conferences, seminars, workshops etc. within the country and outside. Has been a resource person at a large number of workshops and short-term courses.
